Error: This version of Jet is not valid. (due to wrong MSJT and ODBC DLL's).
Error:
This version of Jet is Not Valid [Error while configuring ODBC drivers!] The configuration of the ODBC Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) driver failed. Microsoft Office was not completed successfully.
Cause:
This error occurs during Office 95 Setup when incorrect versions of the MSJT3032.DLL and ODBCJT32.DLL are installed on the computer. (ODBCJT32.DLL Version 2.99.1721) and MSJT3032.DLL version 3.00.xxx).
Solution:
Rename MSJT3032.DLL and ODBCJT32.DLL and run Office 95 Setup again to install the updated versions.
1) Search for MSJT3032.DLL and ODBCJT32.DLL using the Windows 95 Find feature:
a) Click 'Start' todisplay the Windows 'Start' menu.
Start menu
b) Select 'Find' and select 'Files or Folders'.
c) Select the drive in the 'Look In' drop-down list.
d) Type 'MSJT3032.DLL' in the 'Named' box.
e) Select the 'Include all subfolders' check box.
f) Click 'Find Now'. (The MSJT3032.DLL file appears in the find results window.)
2) Rename the file:
a) Right-click on the MSJT3032.DLL file in the find results window. (A Shortcut menu appears.)
b) Select 'Rename' from the Shortcut menu.
c) Type a new name.
3) Repeat steps 1) and 2) for the ODBCJT32.DLL.
4) Close the 'Find' program window.
5) Run Office 95 Setup again.
